Yesterday was about honor. Today is about justice.
Shooter follows Bob Lee Swagger, a former Marine sniper who is drawn out of seclusion for a security assignment that quickly turns dangerous. What begins as a mission to prevent an attack on the President turns into a trap, and Swagger is left fighting to clear his name after being blamed for the crime. As he goes on the run, he tries to uncover who set him up and why. The story moves from quiet isolation to a tense pursuit built around betrayal and survival.

The film was released in 2007 and runs 124 minutes. It was made in the United States and is driven by a performance from Mark Wahlberg as Swagger, whose skills and instincts make him both useful and expendable. Michael Peña appears as an FBI agent drawn into the search, while Danny Glover plays a powerful figure whose involvement deepens the suspicion around the case. The cast gives the chase a grounded, physical edge as each character pushes the investigation in a different direction.

Set against a world of government power, military discipline and hidden agendas, the film keeps its focus on pressure and mistrust. Its tone is tense and forceful, with action scenes supporting a story about loyalty being tested and justice becoming personal. The landscape feels broad and hostile, which suits a thriller built on isolation, pursuit and the fear of being hunted by the very system meant to protect.
