Last Orders follows a small group of London men carrying out a final wish for their friend Jack Dodd. They set out for Margate with his ashes, and the journey draws them into memories of Jack, his wife Amy, and the lives they have built around him. What begins as a practical errand becomes a quiet reckoning with loyalty, regret and the ties that hold people together. The film keeps its focus on ordinary lives and the emotional weight of saying goodbye.

The film was released in 2001 and runs 109 minutes. It brings together drama, romance and comedy in a story shaped by a close-knit ensemble rather than a single hero. The lead figures are Ray, Lenny, Vic and Vince, whose trip gives each of them room to reflect on their pasts and on Jack’s place in them. Their memories and conversations carry the film as much as the journey itself.

Set against London and the coast, the film moves between present-day travel and recollection, giving the story a grounded, reflective tone. Its mood is gentle but unsentimental, with humor sitting beside loss and long friendship. The result is a film about memory, class and the way everyday lives are marked by love, disappointment and time.
