“They hunt to live. It lives to hunt.”
Set on the Great Plains, Prey follows Naru, a Comanche warrior determined to protect her camp when danger closes in. What begins as a fight to defend her people turns into a hunt against a highly evolved alien predator armed with advanced technology. As the threat grows, Naru must rely on skill, nerve and observation to survive the encounter.
Dan Trachtenberg directs this 2022 science-fiction thriller, shaping the story around a clash between human tracking and a far more sophisticated hunter. Amber Midthunder plays Naru, the warrior at the center of the struggle, while the film also features a Comanche community caught in the threat around her. The cast supports a survival story built on pursuit, resistance and adaptation.
The film’s setting gives the chase a stark, open-air scale, with the landscape becoming part of the tension. Its tone is suspenseful and aggressive, with the hunt driving every choice Naru makes. The story also draws strength from themes of identity, survival and the meeting of traditional skill with advanced force.
