“How far would you go to protect your home?”
Phil Broker has left his work as a DEA agent behind and is trying to give his daughter Maddy a calm life in a small town. That peace breaks when a schoolyard conflict puts them on a collision course with Morgan "Gator" Bodine, a local criminal who has his own reach in the area. What begins as a family problem quickly turns into a dangerous fight over control, safety and pride. The film follows how far a father will go when a quiet life is threatened.
Directed by Gary Fleder, Homefront pairs a tight, rural setting with a story built around a retired lawman trying to stay out of trouble. Jason Statham plays Phil Broker, bringing physical force and restraint to a man pushed back into conflict. James Franco appears as Gator, the local boss whose presence turns the town into hostile ground. Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth are among the cast, adding pressure around the central clash.
Made in the United States and Germany, the film uses its small-town backdrop to keep the tension close and personal. Its action grows out of family protection rather than spectacle, giving the story a hard, uneasy tone. The result is a thriller with a rough edge, shaped by loyalty, intimidation and the fear of what comes next.
