A team of elite mercenaries takes on a dangerous assignment that sends them to a remote island ruled by violence and political unrest. What begins as a mission to remove a dictator quickly turns into a deeper look at the conflict tearing the place apart. As the group moves through the assignment, the film keeps the focus on pressure, loyalty and the risks of working for hire.
Sylvester Stallone directs and also leads the film as Barney Ross, the hard-edged commander who sets the operation in motion. Jason Statham appears as Lee Christmas, a knife specialist who goes with Barney to size up the target, while Jet Li plays Yin Yang, whose martial arts skills make him a key part of the team.
