The Proposal

Margaret Tate is a hard-driving book editor who suddenly faces deportation when her visa status comes under scrutiny. To keep her life in the United States intact, she pressures her assistant Andrew Paxton into a marriage of convenience. What begins as a desperate arrangement quickly turns into an uneasy test of loyalty, control and personal pride. The film follows their attempt to keep the scheme alive while each of them is forced to confront what they want from the relationship.
